Following a legal action by Telstra over telephone directory information, the publisher of Marketing Pro, Desktop Marketing Systems Pty Ltd, lost its case. Legal issues involved the ownership and copyright of information contained in the Yellow Pages and White Pages telephone directories.

As a result a small Australian business no longer exists along with the jobs of those employed. Desktop Marketing Systems was not the only company to be pressured into ceasing business. Over the last few years a number of providors of CD-ROM based telephone directories have closed . These included OZ on Disk and Australia on Disk (Green Pages).

Desktop Marketing Systems was the last company in Australia to produce business telephone directory information on CD-ROM that could be used for marketing purposes.

Telstra do not offer an alternative product. But we do.
